Have you heard about Club Penguin coming back? That’s right! Club Penguin has returned better than ever! The platform has four creators: Joe, Josh, Lewis, and Tim, these developers decided to recreate Club Penguin based off of Disney’s version, accept now much more available to those who can’t afford the memberships -it’s now free- and while there are still ads, they are there for good reason as this is a voluntary project and funding is needed.

Disney shut down the original Club Penguin saying “Child safety is a top priority for the Walt Disney Company and we are appalled by the allegations of criminal activity and abhorrent behavior on this unauthorized website that is illegally using the Club Penguin brand and characters for its own purposes.” After they issued a Digital Millennium Copyright Act, players were given a notice that on the 31st of May, 2017, it would be shutting down forever.

As Club Penguin fell, Club Penguin Rewritten rose from its ashes to replace what was lost. It is very similar to Club Penguin but everyone can be a member now without paying a dime, ads are there only to help fund to keep the website running, and it’s completely legal due to the educational fair use laws in the United States.
