News with the Blues

With the Blues finishing the 2021 regular season at a well-rounded record of 27-20-9 and a very disappointing 4-0 first-round exit to the Colorado Avalanche, what steps need to be taken to bring the St. Louis Blues to the next level?
“First off, the Blues need to move on from Tarasenko as fast as they can, and we need to resign key players like Robert Thomas and Jaden Schwartz to cheap deals. Also, we need help on the defensive side of things, my suggestion is that we pick up Tyson Barrie along with Dougie Hamilton,” junior Matt Reincke said.
With the loss of Alex Pietrangelo, the Blues need someone to help out Colton Parayko and Robert Bortuzzo. If St. Louis focuses on helping out the defense the addition of the veteran defensive man Tyson Barrie would be great for the Blues. Tyson consistently has a nose for the net and has a high number of goals for playing defense, with Barrie’s constant pressure on offense and the ability to get back and hold his own on defense, he could be an absolute game-changer for the team.
“I honestly think the Blues are going to do good with the new acquisitions. Even though they lost a couple of solid pieces like Blais and Schwartz, we still have Tarasenko. I would like to see Tarasenko stay with the Blues, but he just isn’t the same since his last few surgeries. It would be great to be able to trade for some prospects, players, or picks from him before his value goes down,” junior Jordan Williams said. I believe that Williams is absolutely correct about Tarasenko and that if we do trade him, we should trade him rather sooner than later before his value drops down.
