Grades 7-12 turn to virtual learning for the week of November 30th as a response to Covid-19 cases increasing at an alarming rate in the district.

“Red status can apply to a single building, a single classroom, or the entire district,” superintendent Dr. Jonathan Mulford said. “Basically red status means that we are moving to full remote learning for a period of time.”

Dr. Mulford said that he was worried that Thanksgiving gatherings will cause a spike in cases, just like after Halloween.

“Over the last 2-3 weeks we were seeing an increase in the number of staff that have to quarantine for one reason or the other, whether it’s being positive themselves or being exposed to a positive case,” Mulford said. “It’s been challenging to fill in the number of absences, and that all factors in to the decision.”
