About
The Pride is a production of the journalism staffs at Pacific High School. It is designed, written, and maintained by students. All content decision is made by students, and serves as an educational experience. The importance of student journalism has not changed, but the technology options have dramatically changed. In 2020, Digital Publications students created The Pride, launched the first online student journalism site and haven’t looked back.
The Pride’s primary purpose is to inform its readers about events in our school and community, including issues of national or international importance which directly or indirectly affect the student population, by gathering accurate information and publishing newsworthy articles. While serving as a training ground for student journalists and following a school curriculum, The Pride recognizes all rights and responsibilities under the First Amendment. Student media staff members will apply professional standards and ethics to decision making as they create produce content.
Pacific High School is the sole high school in the Meramec Valley R-III school district, located in the western part of St. Louis County, the eastern part of Franklin County, and the northwest corner of Jefferson County.
