Stress can be an everyday common occurrence, but around finals it seems to be a little more prominent than normal. Below are some tips and tricks to lower stress during finals.

Tip 1: Eat
Eating the right amount of nutrients, vitamins and minerals is the right way to start the day when it’s finals week. It can help prevent illness, headaches and nausea. Eating the right stuff can help you feel energized and allow your body to feel less stressed.

Tip 2: Breathe
Breathing is very important when it comes to relieving stress. Taking a minute to breathe or taking several deep breaths can lower your stress levels and help clear your head.

Tip 3: Hydration
Your entire body runs on water and tends to work better when you are hydrated. It is important to stay hydrated. When you drink a lot of caffeinated beverages, it can elevate your stress levels and cause headaches. It is a good idea to have a bottle of water with every caffeinated drink you have.

Tip 4: STUDY
You have heard it a thousand times: study for your finals. Take 15 minutes to look over a subject you’re struggling with and make sure you’re in a comfortable study environment. A quiet place to study, listen to music, relax, and even snack.

Tip 5: Socialize
Talking with your peers can actually help you relieve stress as well. The people around you may even be able to help you study for that subject you’re falling behind in. They can be fun to talk to when you’re feeling stressed and you can get something off your mind. And after finals you can rejoice with them and celebrate that finals are finally over!
