On September 28, 2021 singer, Machine Gun Kelly, performed in Maryland Heights at the St. Louis Music Park. The tour featured his latest album, Tickets To My Downfall, while also including songs from his fourth studio album, Hotel Diablo. It was the second sold out show the venue has seen since their recent opening.

The opening acts, Carolesdaughter and jxdn, got the crowd excited while they waited for the main act. The cheering didn’t stop while they started setting up the stage for Machine Gun Kelly (also known as MGK). Once the lights changed, the crowd went insane screaming and yelling, unable to contain their excitement. Fans in the pit started jumping up and down singing as the intro to the first song “title track” started playing.

“The MGK concert was awesome. He was energetic and wild,” junior Chase Vernaci said.

MGK’s energy captivated the audience and that energy stayed consistent through the entire show. One of the most memorable parts of the show was on two occasions MGK brought two young girls up from the pit on stage.

Some people, however, were only there for support.

“It was a good performance but I don’t like his songs the way I thought he did,” Nicholas Sater said. He himself is not a fan of MGK but he took his girlfriend to the show. “It was really hot in the pit and the fire on stage made it worse,” Sater said. So, I guess you could say it was a pretty unanimous opinion on his performance but, a little different on the heat conditions.
